SSR Curt Christiansen’s Happier, Healthier Me: Week Forty Four

SSR Curt Christiansen’s Happier, Healthier Me: Week Forty Four

Life is good.

I paid $2.64 a gallon for gas on Sunday.

My buddy Jim completed his 15th consecutive Marine Corps Marathon also on Sunday.

And while current Marines and former Marines were competing in Arlington Virginia, the last Marines in Afghanistan were turning over the keys to Camp Leatherneck and packing up to come home.

I ran my fastest 5K this year in the Broad Run High School Spartan Spooktacular 5K.

The World Series went to the seventh game as it should.

The Steelers beat the Colts.

The Redskins beat Dallas.

My oldest daughter (Alexa) got a new job.

And I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico.

I?m kidding.

But even bigger than all those things, Sport and Spine Rehab renewed its relationship with Potomac River Running for 2015!

The beginning of the year, when I first started my quest to get running again, eat better and lose some weight, and generally become happier and healthier, we hadn?t yet made the decision to work with Potomac River Running. That came shortly after though and it couldn?t have been better timed since I needed all the help and motivation I could get.

If you don?t know already, Potomac River Running is a family-owned running specialty store with 8 locations in Northern Virginia and DC. They opened their first location in 2003 in Loudoun County with the goal of sharing their ?passion for an active lifestyle with the community.? Their website also points out that they ?are fortunate to work our passion, and have greatly enjoyed serving the Metro area? and ?hope to continue to provide the best customer experience possible.?

The last eight years they have been voted one of the 50 Best Running Stores in America by Competitor Magazine and Running Insight. They are committed to growing the running and walking community through support, education, and community outreach.

Working their passion?.serving the community?.providing the best customer experience?..benevolence?..

Sounds familiar.

It?s really nice to be able to work with a group that shares the same values and vision we do.

So I am excited!

And so, if you are getting motivated to start running or walking or maybe you are already out there; and you need some equipment, some coaching, some expert advice, or you just want some company, go see them! If you want to give yourself a reason to train and participate in some organized races, go to their PRR Races? website and register!

And by the way?..this is from the bottom of their ?About Us? page on the PRR website:

?We are proud to know an ever growing list of people who have taken incredible steps toward being fitter, healthier, and happier than ever. Do you have a story you think might inspire others? Contact us at and share it! We?d love to hear from you!?

Hmmm, why does that sound familiar too…….hey guys??.over here????this is week forty four you know??..

I?m kidding.

Have a great weekend! Happy Halloween!
