Sport & Spine Rehab?s Latest Philanthropic Endeavor
Sport & Spine Rehab is conducting a used shoe drive for Soles 4 Souls, a nonprofit with a simple mission: to procure shoes and give them to those in need.
About Soles 4 Souls
Following the tsunami that hit Southeast Asia in 2004, Soles 4 Souls founder Wayne Elsey wanted to help, but he didn?t know how. Then, the idea for Soles 4 Souls came to him one day when watching TV, when he saw a picture of a single shoe washing up on the beach.
Elsey then made a few calls to executives in the footwear industry to help raise funds / collect shoes and, thus, Soles 4 Souls was born.
Shoes are a crucial part of life. They help eliminate the spread of disease, as well as help children obtain an education (shoes are mandatory in some schools). Proper footwear is the first step in helping people in impoverished areas live healthy, productive lives.
