On May 24, 2012 Sport & Spine Rehab hosted a dinner for members of the Medical Society of Northern Virginia (MSNVA) at Ruth?s Chris Steakhouse in Vienna, VA. MSNVA is composed of over fifteen hundred doctors in Northern Virginia.
Dr. Barton Bishop, PT, DPT, CKTI, SCS, TPI, CGFI-MP2, CSCS presented ?Newest Trends Evidenced-Based Evaluation and Conservative Management of Low Back Pain.? The presentation, which lasted roughly an hour, was followed by an engaging discussion and then a questions and answers session.
We had a great turnout and an array of medical specialists, ranging from allergists to pediatricians to podiatrists to pain management and trauma surgeons to neurosurgeons and gastroenterologists. Most of the doctors practice throughout Northern Virginia, specifically Springfield, Great Falls, McLean and Vienna.
?I never thought of my posture while performing surgery and it makes so much sense as to our awkward hovering positions and no wonder we have shoulder, neck and hand pain,? said one of the hand surgeons whom attended.
?I can?t wait to come to Sport and Spine Rehab- please just get me out of pain,? said another member.
We at Sport & Spine Rehab look forward to doing more lectures in the Fall with the Medical Society of Northern Virginia! Thanks to all who attended and helped make this event possible!
