Dr. Bishop Presents in Rome

Dr. Bishop Presents in Rome

I just returned from Rome, Italy where I attended the First?International Kinesio Tape Symposium?and presented on the results of research being beformed in our Rockville clinic out of the Sport and Spine Rehab Clinical Research Foundation. I was among 150 physiotherapists, chiropractors, and athletic trainers from over 20 countries who attended the conference. We had 2 full days of informative presentations based on the research being performed all over the world on all types of conditions from lower back pain (ours) to treatment after mastectomy to treatment of cerebral palsy to treatment of athletes. There were also workshops on new techniques presented by some of the greatest minds in Kinesio Tape.

My presentation was in the morning of the first day, and it received rave reviews. A lot of the participants enjoyed that it was done in a clinic with clinicians in mind. What that means is that we allowed our doctors to make the determination on how best to tape that particular day instead of requiring them to tape one way for every patient. We figured that not all patients are the same so why tape the same way?!

Special Thanks Indeed!

I want to thank Dr. Jay, Dr. Agosto, Dr. Vahldick?and the Rockville staff especially Danielle Davis, Dr. Phil Page and Dr. Dana Mackison?of Performance Health, Dr. Topp at the University of Louisville, and everyone at Kinesio for their support.

Look for more to come out of this as it seems that we were invited back to next year’s Symposium!
