Dr. Ian Schapiro is a licensed chiropractor with physical therapy privileges in Maryland and Virginia. Dr. Schapiro grew up in Rockville, Maryland and attended local public schools. He proceeded to complete his underrate studies at the University of Tampa graduating with a degree in Allied Health. He went on to earn his doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic West where during his time there he was awarded the clinical excellence award from his success actively treating patients in the school’s outpatient clinic.
As a former baseball, football, and basketball player, Dr. Ian Schapiro has experienced a variety of injures during his career. After a chance opportunity led to him working for a high level sports chiropractor, Dr. Schapiro dedicated his studies to finding the best ways to treat athletes of all skills level. He strives to provide patients with the highest level of care possible. He addresses a patients movement dysfunctions, muscular imbalances, and overall functionality to tailor an individualized plan that best fits each patient. He is committed to breaking down a patients issue to its root cause in order to address the underlying root cause of the issue. He uses a variety of techniques including; diversified adjustments, flexion distraction, interment assisted soft tissue, and myofascial release complementary to active rehabilitation in order to best address each patients needs.
Dr. Schapiro has always been active in trying to help people throughout his life. He has spent many years volunteering in numerous ways around the DMV and enjoys doing what he can to make another persons life easier.
During his free time, Dr. Schapiro enjoys going on hikes, playing and watching sports, trying new places to eat and hanging out with friends and family. During the warmer months he spends as much time as he can traveling in search of the best beaches.
